( dpi) . Norm ally , t he great er t he dpi
num ber , t he higher t he r esolut ion and
t he im age file size. Be aw ar e t hat
gr eat er r esolut ion t akes m or e t im e t o
scan, and m or e disk space for t he
scanning im age. For your infor m at ion,
an A4 size color im age scanned at 300
dpi at Tr ue Color m ode consum es
appr oxim at ely 25 MB of disk space. A
higher r esolut ion ( usually m eans over
600 dpi) is only r ecom m ended w hen you
need t o scan a sm all ar ea at Tr ue Color
m ode.
Choose a r esolut ion value fr om t he dr op
dow n list . The default value is 200 dpi.
Available resolut ions ar e 75, 100, 150,
200,300, 400 and 600. Or you m ay
choose your desir ed value by clicking t he
box in t he r ight side of t he dr op dow n
list and pr ess t he ar r ow key t o select
your desir ed value and t hen click t he
Add but t on t o include it in t he dr op dow n
list . N ot e : The r esolut ion is up t o 300
dpi if an im print er or a MI CR reader is
inst alled or connect ed t o t he scanner .
