Creating Virtual Workspaces
You must create Alias names for the accessible ISIS workspaces.
To create virtual workspaces:
1. Right-click
My Computer
and select Manage on the System Director.
The Server Manager window opens.
2. In the left pane of the Service Manager window, click the plus sign (+) to expand the Roles >
Web Server (IIS) > Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager.
3. In the Connections pane, click the plus sign (+) to expand your
System Director name
>
Sites > and select ISIS FTP Share.
4. In the Actions pane, click View Virtual Directories.
5. In the Actions pane, click Add Virtual Directories.
The Add Virtual Directory window opens.
6. Enter the Alias name of the workspace, for example:
workspace_name
.
7. Type the network path to the workspace in the Physical path text box (for example,
\\
hostname
\
workspace name
).

For consistency and ease, Avid recommends that the workspace name and alias be similar.
8. In the Add Virtual Directory dialog box, click Connect as.
The Connect As dialog box opens.
