General
The LP04 VT makes it possible to connect valves to
a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) using a field
bus system. An advantage of serial control is saving
parallel output cards in the PLC and necessary
cabling.
Special software in the PLC's master assembly
allows the user to control the VT using the same
method as that for parallel input/output assemblies.

Design
The LP04 valve system with AS-interface bus switch
can be delivered as a system with 2, 4, 6, or 8 valve
positions. All valves are supplied via a separate
supply voltage (X1S). As an option, the system can
also be equipped with 4 (version 34) or 8 inputs
(version 33). A 4 input distribution module,
R402001810, can be connected to an 8-pin M12
socket (X2l1 and X2l2). Standard input distributors
from various manufacturers can also be connected
to these sockets.
The following VT versions are currently available for
delivery:
W
8 DI/8 DO with AUX
W
4 DI/4 DO with AUX
W
4 DO with AUX
AS-interface
The VT LP04 with AS-i bus connection is only
designed for operating as a slave in an AS-i bus
system according to EN 50295. A two-wire yellow
AS-i profile cable is used as a bus cable which also
supplies the power for the logic and connected
sensors.
The power consumption of the sensors may not
exceed a total of 150 mA per 8-pin M12 plug.
The bus-independent power supply (AUX) for the
valves is transferred via a black AS-i profile cable.
The addresses (1 to 31 for up to 31 slaves or bus
participants) are set via the bus cable and saved in
the VT. A separate AS-i addressing tool is used for
this. Default setting: Address 0. The LP04 AS-i VT
always takes addresses A and B in the AS-i protocol
2.1.
The special feature of the 8 DI/8 DO AUX bus system
with 8 inputs and 8 outputs is that this module is
provided with 2 addresses. There are two
independent AS-i circuits in the VT. This is
necessary as an AS-i slave (circuit) can process a
maximum of 4 inputs and 4 outputs.
The presence of the bus and the power supply is
shown by the green LEDs "AS-i1”, “AS-i2" and "AUX".
Failure of the data traffic through the AS-i bus is
shown by the LED diagnosis "FAULT".
