steam cleaning power to obtain a higher descaling effect.
POLYESTER AND BRASS BRUSHES (8, 9, Fig. 2)
The small brushes have to be connected to the nozzle and are useful to concentrate the steam jet of
the nozzle on a specific point, polyester and brass bristles are suitable to various uses.
CAUTION: Before using any of the round brushes, ensure that the bristles are suitable and will
not cause any damage to the surface to be cleaned.
DRAINAGE SPANNER (10, Fig. 2)
It allows to open the boiler nut in order to effectuate boiler drainage.
STEAM IRON (OPTIONAL ACCESSORY)
The professional steam iron accessory can be used with this steam generator when connected via
the iron steam hose and plug.
Setting the ironing temperature.
The iron is thermostatically controlled and the indicator light will go off when the selected ironing
temperature has been reached, continue ironing even when this light comes back on. The element is
continuously switched on and off by the thermostat to maintain the selected temperature.
First check that the fabric is suitable to be ironed. A label can usually be found on the fabric (see
table).
Always follow the instructions on the label.
If there are no instructions on the fabric, but you know the type of fabric, follow the instructions in
the table. If the type of fabric is not known, start at the coolest setting and gradually increase to
find the most suitable ironing temperature. Test a small piece of the fabric that will not be visible
when it is worn or in use. The iron heats up much faster than it cools down. Sort the fabrics by
ironing temperature: synthetic (man made) fibres, mixed natural with synthetic fibres, pure wool and
finally cotton. Start with synthetic fibres or mixed fibres as these require the coolest temperature
e.g. 60% polyester and 40% cotton must be ironed at the polyester (synthetic) setting. Pure wool,
silk, and synthetic fabrics make become shiny, to avoid this iron on the inside. Pure wool can also
be ironed with steam. Velvet and other easy shine fabrics should be lightly pressed (with a cloth) in
one direction only.
Do not leave or keep the iron stationary on any fabric - keep it moving continuously. Never use a
water spray on synthetic or silk fabrics as this will create a ‘halo’ effect.
The table is valid for untreated fabrics. Fabrics treated with starch or other substances should be
ironed at a lower temperature.
