Definitions
Balancing spring
Helps the motor open and close the glass obstacle.
Closed position
Position when the glass obstacles are blocking the passageway; the
lane is then considered “closed.”
DIRAS
Abbreviation of Automatic Systems Infra-Red Detection (translated
from French). A DIRAS is a printed circuit board equipped with

photocells. It is part of the detection system of the portal.
Extension
Offered as an option; allows for an increased level of detection.
Fixed glass obstacle
Fixed pane that blocks the area over the unit. When the moving glass
obstacles are higher than 39 in (990 mm), offered in matching height.
Function pictogram
Indicates the procedure to follow.
High glass
Lane equipped with 47-in (1200-mm), 67-in (1700-mm) or 75-in (1900-
mm) glass obstacles.
Inductive position sensor
Monitors the position of the glass obstacle and transmits this
information to the programmable logic controller (PLC).
Lane
Composed of 2 units and a passageway.
Locking mechanism
Maintains the glass obstacle in an open position in the event of a
power cut or other emergency.
Low glass
Lane equipped with 39-in (990-mm) glass obstacles.
Moving glass obstacle
Retractable panel that blocks the passageway.
Open position
Position when the glass obstacles are retracted into the units, leaving
the passageway open; the lane is then considered “open.”
Orientation pictogram
Indicates to the user whether the lane is free and the direction to
follow.
Passageway
Corridor between 2 units.

Programmable logic controller
