3.3 Laying the RF cable
When laying the coaxial cable, pay attention to not bend the cable
beyond its bending radius (30 mm) and to stress relieve the
connections. The cables should always be laid in cable ducts or
conduits to ensure it is sufficiently protected. Avoid too strong
lateral pressure on the SMA screw connection on the transmitter
antenna - risk of breakage!
When laying, make sure the cable is not bent or
kinked too much. Note the minimum hole size of
15 mm for cable glands due to the connection
plugs.
If you install the outdoor antenna on an exposed building roof, it is
recommended to use an overvoltage protection module that is
"interposed" in the cable. The lightning protection module must be
connected to the earthing of the building at the building entrance
of the coaxial cable. This kit is optionally available.
3.4 Installing the transmitting antenna:
Install the transmitter antenna in a location where the system can
radiate freely. Note that the GNSS signals are very easy to shield
due to the high frequency and the extremely low transmission
power (Nano Watt). Even a held hand can affect the free radiation
enormously.
The transmitter antenna may be installed on the ceiling, using the
supplied bracket, or on the wall in sufficient height.
Do not screw the cable connectors with pliers of
any kind, simply screw them tightly by hand.
