Table 4-2. Troubleshooting Procedures

PROBLEM

PROBABLE CAUSE

Cannot

achieve the

sharp image

of the object.

Objective and out-

put lenses dirty.

Clean thoroughly the

lenses surfaces.

Driving ring rotates

while threaded ring

does not move (see

Figure 3-1).

(1) Using hex wrench

tighten M3x6 screw

which secures driving

ring on threaded ring.
(2) Point the sight to

an object situ-ated at a

distance more than 100

m from you. Rotate focus

ring to achieve sharp

image of the object.
(3) Loosen the M3x6

screw and turn the

driving ring counter-

clockwise to obtain a gap

under driving ring lug

equal to the thickness

of your thumb. (The gap

is indicated with arrow,

Figure 3-1).
(4) Tighten the M3x6

screw.

Damaged optical

components.

Send the sight to the

service center.
