6. Power-on

1. Things to be checked before turning on the power.

The brightness of the illuminator lamps

in the refraction field and the scale field

can be adjusted using the brightness

adjustment switch on the upper surface

of the digital thermometer (refer to

page12).

Be sure to use the power cable accompanying the main unit.

Do not plug the power cable into any electrical outlet other than AC100 to 240V.

Do not use a power cable that is cut, damaged or processed.

Make sure the power cable is plugged

into the digital thermometer.

Make sure the illuminator lamp cable is

connected properly into the main unit of

the

refractometer

and

the

digital

thermometer.

Plug the AC power cable into an indoor AC100 to 240V power outlet. At this time, be sure

to connect the ground pin.

When

using

a circulating

constant

temperature bath, make sure it is

connected.

2. Power on

Plug the power cable of the digital

thermometer in an AC100 to 240V

electrical outlet and ensure that the

ground pin is connected as well.

Turn on the power switch of the digital

thermometer. The current temperature of

the Abbe refractometer's prism will be

displayed on the digital thermometer.

The sample illuminator lamp and the scale

field

illuminator

lamp

the

Abbe

refractometer will light up.

Contact the dealer or our distributor when the refractometer fails to function properly during

measurement or check up. In such a case, turn off the power switch immediately, and then

unplug the power cable.
