SATA/SAS backplane cabling

Connects the data cables connected to the motherboard

Connects a 8-pin plug from power supply

Front side

Back side

The front side of the SATA/SAS backplane faces the front panel when installed. This 

side includes eight SATA/SAS connectors for the hot swap drive trays.

The back side of the SATA/SAS backplane faces the rear panel when installed. This 

side includes the power connectors and SATA/SAS interfaces for the motherboard 

Serial ATA connectors or the SAS card.
