3.2 Start-up
The following explanations for
start-up apply to all versions of the
ASSKEA secretion aspirators M- and
S-series.
• Please read this entire instruction for use
prior to initial start-up of the ASSKEA
secretion aspirator M- and S-series.
• Remove the device and the accessories
from the packaging.
• Always place the device on a sturdy and flat
surface without slope.
• The ASSKEA secretion aspirators M- and
S-series can be placed next to the patient
bed. Optionally, a variable holder for the at-
tachment of the devices to tube and rail sys-
tems as well as a bed holder are available.
• Inspect all tubes as well as the power sup-
ply unit or mains cable for damage prior to
each start-up of the ASSKEA secretion as-
pirators M- and S-series. It is important to
avoid kinking when connecting the tubes.
Ensure prior to switching on the unit that
the secretion canister and the tubing are
properly connected.
• Fully charge the battery prior to initial start-
up (only valid for ASSKEA secretion aspira-
tors M-series).
• Prior to the initial start-up it is essential that
you follow the safety instructions in section
1.6.
• Always have one backup disposable liner
‘OneWay‘ ready when using the reusable
secretion canister system or one backup
external bacterial filter, since these are ab-
solutely necessary for safe operation!
To ensure optimum aspiration, place
the ASSKEA secretion aspirators
M- and S-series below the patient to
be treated. It is important that the suc-
tion tube does not form a dip and is
situated at least at patient level.
