Installation Manual
NU-Series Hardware

System Cabling

To migrate from a system with legacy teleCARE M passive modules:

1. Remove the power supply from the teleCARE M system.

2. Remove all the legacy IAM modules and replace them with the NUPBC modules. The

same cabling and 8-pole connectors can be used.

Note: All connectors in the NUPBC and cabling to the modules remain
unchanged.

3. Move the passive buses to the NUPBC module.

4. Check the connectors. If you are using RJ-45, then terminate them with spring

connectors.

5. Check the V+ pin to ensure that you have oriented the connector in the proper

direction in the NUPBC.

6. Connect the 24V power supply to the NUPBC’s AUX and Main power connectors.

7. Use a 24VDC auxiliary power supply (for teleCARE M modules) and set the jumper for

the power supply to the

+24V

position.

Important: The Gateway II power supply is higher than allowed for the auxiliary
power. Do not connect the Gateway II power to the Auxiliary power
connector.

8. After the migration, configure the system, and then test all modules for correct

operations.
