2. Enter stack unit configuration mode to configure trunks.
ICX7650-48P Router# configure terminal
ICX7650-48P Router(config)# stack unit 1
ICX7650-48P Router(config-unit-1)#
ICX7650-48P Router(config-unit-1)# stack-trunk 1/3/1 to 1/3/2
ICX7650-48P Router(config-unit-1)# stack-trunk 1/3/3 to 1/3/4
ICX7650-48P Router(config-unit-1)# exit
The example configures two stacking trunks on stack unit 1.
3. If necessary, enable stacking on the device.
ICX7650-48P Router# configure terminal
ICX7650-48P Router(config)# stack enable
Enable stacking. This unit actively participates in stacking
4. Enter the write memory command to save the trunk configuration.
ICX7650-48P Router(config-unit-1)# end
ICX7650-48P Router# write memory
5. Repeat the previous steps to enable stacking and configure trunks as needed on all units in the stack.
NOTE
This step is configured on each separate unit. As shown in the example, each standalone unit identifies itself as
"stack unit 1" until it joins a stack.
ICX7650-48P Router# configure terminal
ICX7650-48P Router(config)# stack unit 1
ICX7650-48P Router(config-unit-1)# stack-trunk 1/3/1 to 1/3/2
ICX7650-48P Router(config-unit-1)# exit
ICX7650-48P Router(config)# stack enable
The example shows a standalone unit being enabled for stacking and configured with a single stacking trunk.
6. Wait for the election to take place.
The second unit is reloaded as a stack member.
7. (Optional) Confirm that the stack has formed based on the stacking links configured.
ICX7650-48P Router# show stack
