 Cleaning and Disinfection Instructions

The following processes are recommended, but 
should be adapted to comply with the local or 
national guidelines (Decontamination of Medical 
Devices) which may apply within the Healthcare 
Facility or the country of use. If uncertain, seek 
advice from the local Infection Control Specialist.

Sara Flex

 should be routinely cleaned and 

disinfected between patients and at regular intervals 
while in use; as is good practice for all reusable 
medical devices.

If there are any questions regarding cleaning 
and disinfecting the equipment, or wish to order 
disinfectant

sure to have the Safety Data Sheets (SDS) available 
for the disinfectants being used.

WARNING

To avoid eye and skin damage, always 
use protective glasses and gloves. If 
contact occurs, rinse with plenty of water. 
If eyes or skin becomes irritated, contact 
a physician. Always read the instructions 
for use and material safety data sheet of 
the disinfectant.

 Detergents/Disinfectants 

•  Mild neutral detergent
•  Alcohol (Ethyl or Isopropyl) 70-90%
•  Chlorine (10 000ppm free chlorine)
•  Phenols (as per Manufacturer’s 

Recommendation)

•  Quaternary Ammonium  (as per Manufacturer’s 

Recommendation)

•  Hydrogen Peroxide (<4.5%) can be used, but 

may cause discoloration on the Sara Flex.
