The Sorrento bed is built to a specialty and deviates in clauses (201.9.2.2 Trapping Zone,
201.9.2.2.1 General) in standard IEC 60601-2-52:2009+A1:2015 to provide the low height
mattress support platform that helps improve patient safety from falls. The deviations have
been benefit/risk assessed in the risk management processes, taking guidance and review
from Subclause 201.9.1 Mechanical Hazards of ME Equipment. The bed has been recognised
as suitable for market use.
