B.3 Grid-Tied/UPS Device-Specific Settings by Manufacturer
Different settings apply if the battery is to be used primarily in a grid-tied, UPS-type application. The goal
of off-grid, solar/battery charged applications is to charge the battery as fast as possible when power is
available. The grid-tied or UPS use case emphasizes providing voltage settings that ensure the long-term
life of the battery and maximum available energy when required. To achieve this goal, the battery will
use a lower float voltage or utilize silent mode settings.
