8.0 Installing the Remineralization Cartridge
Push the two clips (found in the Large Parts Bag) onto the R.O. Membrane housing in preparation for
the Final Polishing Filter (step 1, Fig 14).
Remove the white plugs on either end of the Remineralization Cartridge. Now push the Remineraliza-
tion Cartridge into the canister clips (step 2, Fig. 14). The direction of the Remineralization Cartridge
is important. YOU MUST HAVE THE TEXT UPSIDE DOWN. PLEASE NOTE: The reason for inserting the
Remineralization Cartridge with the text upside down is so the direction of water flow will be correct.
You will notice an arrow engraved on the cartridge which indicates the direction of water flow. The
base of the arrow should be facing the same side of the unit as the side that the cap of the R.O. mem-
brane housing is on.
Take two elbow adaptors from the Small Parts Bag and screw them onto either side of the Remineral-
ization Cartridge. (step 1 in Fig 15). Remember to apply 4-7 wraps of Teflon tape.
Next, insert the blue hose connected to the “OUT” side of the 4 way ASV (Automatic Shut Off Valve)
and push it into the elbow adaptor on the left side of the Remineralization Cartridge. (step 2, Fig 15).
The Remineralization Cartridge makes pH balanced alkaline water and releases a perfect balance of
minerals in the form of calcium, magnesium sodium and potassium ions that can be 100% absorbed
by the human body. Because of this the ppm of the water dispensed at your Aquasafe faucet will be
higher than that coming out of the R.O. Membrane.
