Adjust as needed
1. Locate a flat, dry area near the water. The best setup position will also make launching easy. Never
drag product as damage may occur.
2. Unfold product completely and locate Main valve [1]. To help future storage, closely note original
folding & packaging method. Prepare product for inflation by installing Boston valve and removing cap.
(see Valve Operation).
3. Use Inflation Bag method, or alternate pump with Boston fitting to inflate Main Valve [1]. Inflate to
Working Pressure as shown in Chart 1. Check for proper pressure using gauge (manometer) if necessary.
Properly inflated boat should feel firm, with some give.
4. Inflate Seat [2] to desired firmness and secure by closing Twist-Lock valve. Seat should be supportive,
but soft enough to remain comfortable.
5. Place seat in cockpit. Seat has Velcro patches which help align cushion and backrest in cockpit.
6. Install fin. This product uses a quick-release fin system that requires no tools. See F. Steps:
a. Roll boat over to expose the bottom. Fin box is positioned near stern (rear).
b. Slide fin into center slot in fin box,
pressing down and pulling back on fin
until it engages box.
c. Pull until fin is seated and hole in finbox
is open.
d. Quick Release pin is attached to fin by
rope lanyard. Insert Quick Release pin
through hole in finbox until it snaps into place. Check to confirm fin is secure.
e. Reverse steps to remove fin.
7. To launch kayak, lift product completely and place in water. Never drag product as damage may occur.
Placing kayak in cold water may cause pressure loss due to thermal contraction of air in chamber. Boat
should be rigid enough not to allow any water into cockpit when boarding. Air pressure may need topping
off after boat has adapted to water temperature.
Backwoods Angler 75
