FUNCTIONING LOGIC
INSTALLATION MODE - This functioning mode is only used by the installer and makes it possible to select
the rotation direction. Once selected, the only active input is the start input and therefore when the open
pushbutton is pressed the open relay is energised and when this is released this is de-energised.
SEMIAUTOMATIC MODE - When this functioning mode is selected, one start pulse commands opening,
until the limit switch is tripped. If a start pulse is sent during opening, the operator will stop where it is. In this
case, with the gate fully open or halted at an intermediate position, the next start pulse will command closing,
after a 3 sec. warning given by the flashing beacon and the pilot light. The closing phase will continue until the
limit switch is tripped. Furthermore, during closing, if a start pulse is given or if one of the photocells
intervenes after closing has started, this commands reopening of the operator.
STEP BY STEP MODE - Only differs from the semiautomatic logic due to the fact that a pulse during closing
does not command reopening but stop.
OPEN-CLOSE MODE - Uses the start input as the open command and the close input. Useful for a porter’s
lodge. One start pulse commands opening until the limit switch is reached. One close pulse during opening
commands a stop, a second pause and then closing.
AUTOMATIC MODE - When this type of functioning is selected, a pulse sent commands opening until the
limit switch is reached, the gate remains open for the selected pause time and then is automatically closed
after a warning of 3 sec. provided by the flashing beacon and the pilot light.
•
If a pulse is sent during opening, the control system ignores it and the gate continues to open.
•
If a pulse is sent when the gate is open, this pulse zeroes the pause time (the count starts again from
zero). If the photocells are obscured before the pause time starts, the count will only start when the
photocells are cleared.
•
Finally, if a pulse is sent during closing, the movement direction is reversed (i.e. the gate opens).
SUPER AUTOMATIC MODE - This logic is identical to the automatic logic, the only difference being that
when a pulse is sent during the opening phase, the movement is reversed without terminating the cycle, after
a warning of 3 sec. given by the flashing beacon and pilot light.
DIAGNOSTIC MODE: Check the correct functioning of the microprocessor, stimulating the various outputs
one at a time for approximately one second. At the end of this phase, the installer must command the various
inputs and see that these commands are received (flashing of test LED).
DEAD MAN MODE - Uses the inputs: the start input as the open command and the close input as the close
command. These inputs must be connected to normally open pushbuttons. To move the gate an person must
hold down one of the two commands. When the pushbutton is released, the gate stops. The safety devices
remain active.
OPENING/CLOSING PREFLASHING – The function of the preflashing is to provide a warning of the
imminent movement of the gate. The preflashing can be programmed by setting the dip-switches S3 and S4
(see programming table).
The output which commands the flashing light also establishes the flashing frequency: active for 0.5 sec and
not active for 0.5 seconds, or steady.
PARTIAL OPENING - This is an N.O. input (pedestrian start), which commands the timed functioning of the
operator, so that a portion of the sliding gate is opened to allow pedestrian passage. This size of this portion
is adjusted on a trimmer RV3 (from 3 to 30 sec.). All the logic functions and safety devices selected are also
enabled during pedestrian opening.
•
If a pulse for total opening is given when the pedestrian opening start input is active, the operator will
continue to open completely until the limit switch is reached.
•
If this input is constantly active, it is necessary to command a complete closing cycle and then the block;
the flashing light will signal the fault with fast flashing for 5 sec. intervals and pauses of 10 sec.
OPENING/CLOSING SAFETY INPUT - This is an N.C. input which must function during opening and closing.
It functions as follows: if the safety device intervenes during opening or closing, this causes a reversal of the
gate movement for 10 sec. and then blocks the movement until a start pulse is received which commands
closing.
