When in semiautomatic mode, if the throttle control is not excessively twisted, it is
possible to downshift by repeatedly pressing the GEAR DOWN button. When the op-
eration is finished, the vehicle continues working in semiautomatic mode.
If you accelerate or press the GEAR UP button, the vehicle exits the semiautomatic
mode and the gear indication is no longer displayed, and the bike goes back to AUTO-
DRIVE mode.
The AUTO-DRIVE system has three different mappings:
- SPORT
- TOURING
- RAIN
The SPORT mode has the most advantages: the engine always runs at high revs, the
gear shifting is quick and engine braking is maximum.
The TOURING mode has been designed for tourist purposes, with engine speeds
lower than those in the "sport" mode, less vibration and lower consumption levels.
The RAIN mode is ideal for riding in the city and to maximise safety when riding on
low-grip road surfaces. It is not an anti-skid system, but only one that allows smooth
gear shifting to avoid jerks when setting off, managing power reduction delivered at
low speeds.
Shifting through the different modes and settings takes place by pressing the GEAR
MODE button.
To change the transmission operation mode, press and hold the GEAR MODE button
for more than 1 second.
To change settings, press and hold the GEAR MODE button between 0.2 and 1 sec-
ond.
The setting and mode changing process is sequential.
Particularly, changing settings in automatic mode takes place according to the follow-
ing sequence:
