False Alarms
Apparent false alarms from this product should be treated with caution. Alarms may be caused by very
deep seated fires or other dangerous sources of CO that are difficult to detect without monitoring
equipment.
Carbon monoxide is a colourless, odourless gas and can cause death within
minutes.
Testing
This product should be tested annually with carbon monoxide gas; e.g. by placing a lighted hand-
warmer in a closely fitting hood. It does
not
respond to smoke and will
not
give an alarm from a smoke
test pole.
Safety Information
This product contains an electro-chemical cell with a sealed acid reservoir. In normal usage it
represents no chemical hazard, provided that the product is treated in accordance with the guidelines
given in PIN sheet PP2089.
In case of leakage avoid contact with skin. Use protective gloves and wash all traces of acid from the
product with copious amounts of water.
