• Install the unit at an angle of 1 cm per m towards the left
side of the unit, seen from in front, for better drainage.
• The outdoor unit should be placed on a level, stable surface.
Leave enough free space around the unit for maintenance
and ventilation.
FIG. 6
OPERATING PRINCIPLES
Direct to heating system 1
• No bypass valve
• No external circulation pump
• Internal bypass valve must be closed
NOTE:
For thermostat controlled heating systems, for example
underfloor heating, radiators or fan convector heaters, an
external bypass is required between the supply and return
pipes or the thermostat valve. The pipes in the heating system
must be at least 28 mm copper tube or the equivalent.

2. From heat pump
3. Bypass
4. To the heating system
5. From the heating system
FIG. 7
Direct to heating system 2
• No bypass valve
• No external circulation pump for the heating system
installed
• The internal bypass valve must be closed and is partially
opened to balance the pressure drop in the heating system
NOTE:
If an external circulation pump is used, it must be connected to
and powered from the unit’s integrated circuit board. A shunt
system according to application 1 is required for a thermostat
controlled heating system. The pipes in the heating system
must be at least 28 mm copper tube or the equivalent.

2. From heat pump
3. Bypass
4. To heating and cooling pump, circulation signal from the
circuit board
5. To the heating system
6. From the heating system
FIG. 8
Direct to the heating system with high and low
temperature
• Close the internal bypass valve
NOTE:
Temperature reduction valve and separate circulation pump
for the heating system with low temperature are required.
The pipes in the heating system must be at least 28 mm
copper tube or the equivalent.
1. To heat pump
2. From heat pump
3. Bypass
4. Temperature reduction valve
5. To the heating system
6. From the heating system
FIG. 9
Connection to buffer tank
• External circulation required
• Internal bypass valve closed
• Power supply to external circulation pump (option)
NOTE:
The pipes in the heating system must be at least 28 mm copper
tube or the equivalent.
1. To heat pump
2. From heat pump
3. Buffer tank
4. To the heating system
5. From the heating system
FIG. 10
Connection of external hot water heater
NOTE:
• This application requires the external hot water heater to
have thermostat controlled heating and a mixing valve in
the outlet to the hot water pipe. The unit’s mixing valve
does not need to be used, but gives improved efficiency.
The pipes in the heating system must be at least 28 mm
copper tube or the equivalent.
• The unit has a tank of 250 l for domestic hot water.
• If the household needs more hot water, we recommend that
an external hot water heater is connected in series with the
heat pump’s hot water tank.
– Reconnect the thermostat valve on top of the unit so
that the hot water from the unit goes to the cold side of
the mixing valve.
– Plug the outlet for medium temperature water.
– Connect a bypass between the unit’s hot water outlet
and the external hot water heater’s cold water inlet.
Set the electronic hot water heater’s thermostat to 0.
• The heat pump switches between heating mode and hot tap
water mode and preheats the water to the external hot
water heater.
