Locate test, regardless of the Threshold level, if
the incoming signal level is detected.
•
For 780 nm units, the OTDR Fault Locate test
can be performed if the incoming signal level is
detected (in service test).
4. Fault Locate Step –
If the Connection Check Step is enabled on the
Preferences Setup screen (see Figure 4-4 on
page 4-5) a connection check is performed.
•
If the Connection Check is “GOOD”, the test
will auto-advance in 5 seconds.
•
If the Connection Check is “FAIR” or
“POOR”, follow the on-screen instructions.

If the Connection Check Step was disabled on the
Preferences Setup screen, press the
Start key to
begin the test.
5. The Fault Locate application begins collecting data.
When the data collection is complete, the Summary
screen appears.
6. Read the test results on the Summary screen (see
Figure 4-22 on page 4-36).
