The 3D Spectrogram function allows you to view a folder of measurement traces in true
three dimensions: frequency, time, and amplitude. You can use markers to select or point out
specific frequencies and amplitudes. With Signal ID, you can view specific types of signals
and their signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). 3D Spectrogram requires Microsoft DirectX running on
your PC.
Script Master
Script Master is an editor that is used to create files that set up measurement parameters
and create automated test procedures that aid field technicians or field application engineers
with measurement testing.
7-4 Installing MST
MST is provided on the CD-ROM that is included with the instrument. Insert the CD-ROM
into a PC to run the installer. Follow the onscreen instruction.
7-5 Updating Instrument Firmware
1. Connect the Spectrum Master to a PC by using USB or Ethernet. Refer to the Master
Software Tools (MST) User Guide (on the CD-ROM) for information regarding
connecting your Spectrum Master to a PC.
If you are using USB, then refer to
Section 5-6 “Update Firmware” on page 5-9 . If you
are using Ethernet, then continue with Step 2 .
2. Run Master Software Tools
3. From the Connection menu:
• for a USB Connection, Select
Connect – USB
.
• for an Ethernet Connection:
a. Enter the IP Address of your Spectrum Master by first clicking
Enter IP Address…
b. Then click
Connect – Ethernet: xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
• In either type of connection, the connection type is displayed in the toolbar.
4. From the Tools menu, click
