Data Logger 422 User Manual
Detailed help for all available commands and command arguments are accessed within the CLI at
the user prompt (the flashing cursor indicator appearing to the right of the
>
) by typing the
command
help
followed by the name of the command and
pressing the enter key
.
For reference, some of the commands are listed below. Arguments are indicated with “<” and “>”
characters, replace the angle brackets and the text with the parameter value. Arguments shown
within square brackets “[“ and “]” are optional.
NOTE: We attempt to make the DL422 CLI self-documenting, so the detailed help for each command
may be more current than the information in the following table.

Displays a list of CLI commands.
help <command>
The command word “help” followed by the name of another command displays
detailed help for that command.
exit
Leave the CLI and return to sampling mode.
analog
Show or set the analog input port configuration. Use "help analog" for full
argument list.
analog
with no arguments displays the analog settings for all ports.
analog
[<port> [enable|disable|gain [<arg>]|slope [<arg>]|offset [<arg>]
|tagged|untagged|tag <arg>]]
<port> - analog input port for applying arguments. Valid values for <port> are
0 - 3
enable - enable the analog input port
disable - disable the analog input port
gain -
Show or set the hardware gain on the analog input. The maximum
voltage is 6.0V.
<arg> is the desired gain from 0.5 to 8. Legal values are 0.5, 1, 2, 4,
and 8
slope -
Show or set the software gain setting.
offset - Show or set the software offset setting.
tagged - enable the analog channel tag for this port
untagged - disable the analog channel tag for this port
tag -
use <arg> as the tag for this analog channel port
diagnostic
Performs a self diagnostic on the Data Logger 422
digital
Show or set the digital input port
configuration
. Use "help digital" for full argument
list.
digital
[<port> [enable|disable|tagged|untagged|tag <arg>]]
digital
with no arguments displays the digital settings for all ports.
<port> - digital input port for applying arguments. Valid values for <port> are
0 - 1
enable - enable the digital input port
disable - disable the digital input port
tagged - enable the digital channel tag for this port
untagged - disable the digital channel tag for this port

use <arg> as the tag for this digital channel port
expert
Enter or exit expert mode that includes extra commands.
expert
enable|disable
The expert menu items allow access to control over parameters that are not
normally user adjustable. Do Not make changes without
understanding the consequences.
enable - Enable expert command mode
