Installation
Installing RF systems
1. Position the receiver, as required, for an unobstructed RF path to the transmitter and for wiring
to the controlled devices.
2. Extend the antenna vertically.
3. Connect control wiring to all devices, as required.
4. Plug the power supply into the wall outlet; then connect it to the receiver.
5. Test the installation for proper operation. If the receiver is not operating correctly, refer to the
Troubleshooting section on page 8.
Installing IR systems
1. Position the receiver as required for wiring to the IR sensors (IRX-UM+'s or IRX-SM+'s) and
the controlled devices.
2. Connect the IR sensors to the receiver. Refer to FIG. 5 for wiring instructions.
3. Connect control wiring to all devices, as required.
4. Plug the power supply into the wall outlet; then connect it to the receiver.
5. Test the installation for proper operation. If the receiver is not operating correctly, refer to the
Troubleshooting section on page 8.
Wiring IRX-SM+ or IRX-UM+ external IR receiver connectors
Connect one or more optional IRX-SM+ swivel-mount IR receivers or IRX-UM+ IR UniMount IR
receivers to the MX8 (IRX) or MX16 (IRX), as shown in FIG. 5. You can wire up to eight IR
receivers in parallel.
To ensure proper RF reception, avoid placing the unit on or near large metal objects.
