3.14 DE-GASSING THE OIL
The pump must be run for at least 1 hour (prefer-
ably overnight) to remove any traces of gas and
to thoroughly purge the oil of contaminants.
This procedure MUST be carried out to achieve
maximum vacuum.
Rotate the mode selector (item 11) fully anti-
clockwise to select the High Throughput mode
(Large Pear Drop). Note that this control may be
difficult to rotate.
Set the gas ballast control (item 5) to low flow
(position ‘I’).
Operate the pump for at least 1 hour (or over-
night) to thoroughly purge the oil of contaminants.
