Operating DEF System
Filling DEF Tank on Machinery from Trailer
1. On level ground near machinery to be
refueled, set truck parking brake and chock
trailer wheels on both sides.
2. Ensure 3-way valve handle (A) is in position
shown in FIG 6.1and quick connect cap (FIG
6.1B) is in place.
3. Remove DEF tank fill cap on machinery to be
refueled.
4. Unwind DEF hose (with blue nozzle) from DEF
reel (FIG 6.2) and insert nozzle in machinery’s
DEF tank. Do NOT yet depress nozzle trigger or
lock it in OPEN position.
5. Verify rocker switch (FIG 6.1C) on DEF pump is
in the “on” position.
6. Activate DEF Pump with DEF switch (FIG 6.2)
on the control panel next to the flow meter.
7. Fill to desired level and release nozzle trigger.
Do NOT overfill. Leave room for expansion.
8. Turn off DEF pump switch and retract DEF
hose and nozzle on DEF reel.
9. Replace DEF tank fill cap on machinery just
refueled.
10. Return 3-way DEF valve to position shown in
FIG 6.3.
