Caution:
Processor socket 1 must be populated at all times. Failure to replace the
Processor results in the system failing to boot and halting during POST. This error prevents
the system from functioning properly.
Caution:
Always use a new heat sink when replacing processor. Failure to do so can cause
damage to the processor.
2.3.1 To install the processor
Carefully insert the processor into the
socket until it fits in place with the correct
orientation as the picture is shown, while
making sure that the processor is parallel
to the socket.
Lock the socket by pushing down the
lever.

Notes:
When the processor is in place, press it firmly on the socket while you push down the
socket lever to secure the processor. The lever clicks on the socket indicating that it is
locked.
The processor fits only in one orientation. Do not force the processor into the socket to
prevent bending the pins and damaging the processor. If the processor does not fit
completely, check its orientation or check for bent pins.
Warning:
To reduce the risk of personal injury from hot surfaces, allow the internal
system components to cool before touching them.
