Home Sensor Test
1. Remove the Top Cover.
2. Enter the Program Mode. Press the
Function
key until menu 8
appears.
3. Press
the
Change
key 12 times until menu item 13 is displayed.
4. Press
the
Enter
key to start the test.
5. Gently move the Print Head all the way to the left. Record the number
displayed. Move the head away from the home position and record the
number. If the difference between the two readouts is “300” or greater,
the sensor is acceptable.
6. Exit Program Mode.
Card Sensor Test
1. Remove the Top Cover.
2. Enter the Program Mode. Press the
Function
key until menu 8
appears.
3. Press
the
Change
key 13 times until menu item 14 is displayed.
4. Press
the
Enter
key to start the test.
5. Insert a Time Card into the throat until it is under the Card Test
Sensor. The Card Sensor readout will indicate “1” when blocked by a
card and “0” when clear.
6. Exit Program Mode.
Block Sensor Test
1. Remove the Top Cover.
2. Enter the Program Mode. Press the
Function
key until menu 8 appears.
3. Press
the
Change
key 14 times until menu item 15 is displayed.
4. Press
the
Enter
key to start the test. The number on the right of the display should be “00”.
5. Insert a printed Time Card into the throat. The printed card could be from previous printed cards
generated from the “Block Position Adjustment”, Factory Printout”, or “Block Sensor verification”
tests.
6. A 2-digit number and two 2-digit numbers will alternatively show on the display. The 2-digit
number (for example 26 – see illustration) represents how many blocks the sensor read. While
the two 2-digit numbers (for example 40 and 34 – see illustration) equal the maximum and
minimum of the block darkness detected for the inserted card. When using a new ribbon, the
maximum and minimum darkness should be between 50 and 30 for the 26 blocks read.
7. If a new ribbon is used to print the test card and the minimum block darkness is less than 30,
the block sensor should be replaced.
8. Exit Program Mode.
