To adjust the vertical distance: Directly in the
mouth, screw tracing ball in or out respectively.
The notch at the ball can be used to check the
position.

When the ideal distance has been determined:
▷
Remove the mandibular tray.
▷
Lock the tracing ball with the lock nut.
Registration of the arrow angle
▷
Fasten a round copper plate [10] on the tracing
tablet using a little adhesive varnish.

Insert the mandible and maxilla trays in the
patient's mouth.
▷
Have the patient perform protrusion and latero-
trusion jaw movements.
The tracing ball records the jaw movement on
the copper plate.
▷
Remove the mandible tray with the recording on
it.
▷
Insert alignment cross [8] into ball cup of align-
ment clamp [6].
▷
Align the alignment clamp on the tracing tablet
in such a manner that the alignment cross it is
congruent with the tip of the arrow angel
(Gothic arc).

Tighten alignment clamp with locking screw [7].
▷
Remove the alignment cross.
▷
Make sure that the ball cup of the alignment
clamp is completely opened.
▷
Insert the mandibular tray again.
▷
Have the patient occlude in centric relation.
The ball slides in the ball cup of the alignment
clamp.
