Special situations during test-taking
You now have access to all questions and responses in the student’s
quiz. You will not be able to change responses for a quiz that is
marked finished. Press
esc
to return to the student response list.
To view a student’s password:
1. From the student response list, select the name of a student.
2. Press
a -P
. The student’s password appears.
3. Press any key to return to the student response list.
Changing the finished status for a student
If you have required that students mark a quiz as finished and a
student becomes ill during the test or has to leave the room for some
reason, you can mark his or her quiz finished.
This releases the quiz
for other classes and makes the AlphaSmart device usable instead of
being locked in that particular quiz.
To change the finished status:
1. From the student response list, select the name of a student.
2. Press
a
-F
. This toggles the finished demarcation between F
(finished) and N (not finished).
Note:
Remember, this toggle applies only if you designed the test
such that students must mark it finished.
Tip!
If you need help with changing the finished status, press
a
-H
for Help.
3. Press
esc
to exit the student response list.
Note:
If the AlphaSmart device has more than one quiz document
loaded, you can determine which quiz has the unfinished
responses that are causing the AlphaSmart device to be locked
out of other SmartApplets or functions. Look on the quiz menu
for an L, C, or S to the right of the name of a quiz. The letters
indicate which functions are being blocked by the unfinished
