7. Remove belt by rotating with an outward pulling motion as shown in Figure 34.

INSPECTING AND CLEANING THE BELTS AND PULLEYS
1. With the belt removed you can now check and clean it using a mild detergent. The
belt will need to be replaced if it is frayed or showing signs of wear.
2. The pulley should also be cleaned.
3. Rotate the pulley by hand to check for bearing play and wear.
4. Make sure to fully clean the inside area of the large pulley, where the pulley meets
the spindle to prevent slippage.
Clean the dust and buildup
in this recessed area before
reinstalling.
