Important electromagne c compa bility (EMC) informa on
Since electronic devices like PCs and mobile (cell) phones become increas-
ingly popular, medical equipment in use may be sensi ve i.e. it interferes with
electromagne c noise generated by other devices. Electromagne c interference
may impair the opera on of the medical device and create a poten ally unsafe
situa on.
Medical devices, in turn, should not impair the opera on of other devices.
EN 60601-1-2:2007 standard was implemented to introduce EMC require-
ments and further prevent the emergence of unsafe situa ons associated with
the use of products. The standard speci
fi es the levels of immunity to electro-
magne c interference as well as the maximum levels of electromagne c emis-
sion as applicable to medical equipment. This device produced by ELAMED com-
plies with the requirements of EN 60601-1-2:2007 concerning the immunity to
EM interference and emi ed radia on.
Nevertheless, some precau ons should be observed, namely:
• The use of components and cables other than those supplied with the de-
vice may result in increased emissions or malfunc ons. The excep on may be
parts supplied by ELAMED as spare parts.
Special requirements to ensure electromagne c compa bility are given in
Appendix
А .
• Make sure that the equipment operates correctly if the opera ng environ-
ment di ff ers from what speci fi ed in the tables of Appendix А .
