Removing the Mower Deck
WARNING
Engage the parking brake, disengage PTO, stop
engine, and remove key before attempting to remove
the mower deck.
1. Park the tractor on a hard, level surface such as a
concrete floor. Turn off PTO switch and engine,
remove the key, and apply the parking brake.
2. Place the mower in the lowest cutting position using the
cutting height adjustment switch ( see Features and
Controls ).
3. Disconnect the cutting height wire harness.
4. Place the attachment lift in the down position.
5. Pull the idler pulley lever ( A , Figure 18) to release belt
tension. Remove belt ( B ) from PTO pulley ( C ).

6. Remove the cotter pin ( D , Figure 19) and lift chain ( E )
from the hook in tractor frame. Repeat for the other side.
7. Remove the cotter pin and washer at the inner lift bracket
( F , Figure 20) and disconnect the inner J-bolt from the
bracket. Repeat for other side.
8. Turn the wheels straight ahead. Pull back on spring-
loaded lever and lift mower hitch off of the tractor hitch
brackets (see 1-2, Figure 21).
9. Turn the wheels fully left, and slide mower deck out from
under the right of the tractor.
