Appendix C - Gatekeeper Registration Logic

operational. Steps 7 and 8 are repeated as long as the
registration is not successful.

Eventually, the user of the AT-VP504E FXO #2 picks-up the
handset and dials the extension of the AT-VP504E FXO #1.

10.

The AT-VP504E FXO #2 sends the admission request
message to the gatekeeper. The gatekeeper is not
operational. The admission request times-out. The
AT-VP504E FXO #2 now considers itself unregistered since
the gatekeeper is not responding.

11.

The call between the AT-VP504E FXO #2 and the
AT-VP504E FXO #1 fails. The user of the AT-VP504E FXO
#2 hangs-up the handset.

12.

The AT-VP504E FXO #2 waits one (1) minute before trying to
register.

13.

The AT-VP504E FXO #2 tries to register with the gatekeeper
but the registration request times-out. The gatekeeper is not
operational. Steps 12 and 13 are repeated as long as the
registration is not successful.

While AT-VP504E FXO #1 and AT-VP504E FXO #2 are
trying to register, the AT-VP504E FXO #1 can call the
AT-VP504E FXO #2 by dialing the IP address of
AT-VP504E FXO #2. The AT-VP504E FXO #2 can also call
the AT-VP504E FXO #1 by dialing the IP address of
AT-VP504E FXO #1.

If this situation arises, you should change the configuration of
AT-VP504E FXO #1 and AT-VP504E FXO #2. You can
specify a new IP address for the gatekeeper or select the “No
gatekeeper (direct call)” option.
