Administration Manual (H.323 Version)

AT-VP504E FXO

Lightweight
Registration

The lightweight registration mechanism is used to verify the
sanity of the gatekeeper. It allows the AT-VP504E FXO to
verify if the gatekeeper is still "alive".

When the "Lightweight Registration" option is enabled and
once the AT-VP504E FXO is registered, the
AT-VP504E FXO "re-registers" with the gatekeeper at a
specific interval. This interval is in seconds and is the value
of the "Lightweight Registration" option. If the gatekeeper
does not respond to one of these re-registration requests,
the AT-VP504E FXO knows that the gatekeeper is not
functional. The AT-VP504E FXO then tries to register
again. See

“Lightweight Registration” on page 88

for more

details.

Registration
Retry Time

The number of minutes the AT-VP504E FXO waits before
trying to register again.

Value: Any number of minutes between 1 and 60.

Default Value: 1

Voice Call
Service
Prefix

The voice call service prefix of the AT-VP504E FXO is
related to a service defined by a gatekeeper. A gatekeeper
may define various services. If the voice call service prefix
of the AT-VP504E FXO is equal to a service prefix defined
by the gatekeeper, the gatekeeper associates the
AT-VP504E FXO with this service when the unit registers
with it. The service associated with the AT-VP504E FXO
must be a voice service.

Note: This service must be defined in the gatekeeper
before the AT-VP504E FXO registers to it. This service is a
prefix number that will be dialed by other terminals
registered with the same gatekeeper to specify that they
want to make a call on the PSTN. The AT-VP504E FXO
must reboot to register properly with the gatekeeper and
support the service previously defined.
