Troubleshooting
This section explains how to isolate and diagnose problems with the switch. If
you have a problem not listed in this section and you cannot solve it, contact
Allied Telesyn Technical Support.
All LEDs are OFF.

Make sure you are not using a telephone cable (RJ-11) to connect
devices to the switch.
G
The power cord must be firmly connected to the power supply. If the
connection is secure and the switch is not receiving power, replace the
power cord.
G
Make sure the switch is placed where there is adequate airflow on
both sides of the switch and the operating temperature does not
exceed 40
o
C. Do not place the switch in direct sunlight or near warm
air exhausts or heaters.
A port is not transmitting or receiving.
G
Make sure the cables are securely connected at both ends of the link.
G
The port’s status must be configured to “Enable” and the auto-
negotiation feature is enabled for the switch. Refer to the user’s guide
for details on port configuration.
The terminal cannot access the switch software.
G
Make sure your terminal is configured appropriately and the baud
settings are correct. Refer to “Setting Up for Local Management” on
page 17 for details.

You are using the proper null modem cable.
The Web browser cannot access the switch.
G
Make sure the switch’s IP configurations are correct. Refer to the
AT-S30 User’s Guide for details on IP configuration.

The switch is powered ON.
