Chapter 6 Communicate over Networks
CompactLogix 5370 controllers connect directly to a DLR network topology,
that is, without requiring a 1783-ETAP tap to connect to the network. The
controllers can function in any of the roles on a DLR network topology, that is,
active supervisor node, back-up supervisor node or ring node.

network topology.

applications that use only DLR network topologies.
We recommend that you exercise caution if you consider designing an
application that includes the connection of a DLR topology with a linear or star
network topology.
