Road Warriors – Virtual Offices
As office-free professionals, road warriors don’t have some of the perks that office employees take for
granted, like hearty Internet access, reliable landline phone connections, and always-on email.
Solutions for road warriors must be of high enough quality so as to completely substitute, not merely
support, the traditional LAN-connected workstation and desk phone.
In example below, for weekly meetings, you have to move either to the Headquarter (A) or at another
company site (B or C). You don’t have any office and office phone, but of course, you always keep your
professional mobile phone with you. So, during the days you are staying in your virtual office, you need
to be reachable and make business calls using efficient communication tools.

Once connected to your corporate network, use the Web Softphone/4980 Softphone in VoIP mode,
i.e. use your PC with Voice over IP (multi-media capabilities or USB headset/handset) for the audio
part.
If for any reason the IP voice quality deteriorates, you will be able to switch to the PSTN mode and
associate for example your professional mobile phone.
