Home-workers
Home-workers are employees working mainly from home for improving productivity and cutting down
on travel costs. With a business-class Internet connection in the home office, home-workers can work
conveniently and without compromising on speed and performance.
In the example below, you have a physical office on site A with an office phone, and you usually keep
your personal mobile phone with you. For going faster in your new job, you need to stay at home for
the next two weeks. At home, you need to make long distance business calls without being charged. Via
the Internet, you can access the corporate directory or personal contacts, use click to call and contact
your correspondents. Your business phone will be charged for the call. OK, but what should I use ?

Once connected to your corporate network, thanks to a VPN connection, you have the choice to use:
Either your PC and the Web Softphone/4980 Softphone application in VoIP mode, i.e. use
your PC with Voice over IP (multi-media capabilities or USB headset/handset) for the audio
part.
Or your PC and the Web Softphone/4980 Softphone application in PSTN mode (for associating
your personal mobile phone or home phone for the audio part).
Or your wireless PDA and the Web Softphone application in PSTN mode (for associating your
personal mobile phone or home phone for the audio part).
Note: when using the 4980 Softphone application, user is able to switch dynamically from PSTN mode to
VoIP mode and vice-versa.
