4.2. Configuration from the front panel
The AGW3000C01 has three operating modes: automatic, semi-automatic and manual.
The operating mode is selected with long presses of the SELECT/RESET button in the
MODE/ALARM box on the front panel. The operating modes cycle in the following order:
automatic mode, semi-automatic mode and manual mode.
When in manual mode the input assigned to each output can be changed using the
SELECT button in the INPUT SELECTION box as described in the previous section.
4.3. Functional description
4.3.1. Operation in automatic mode
In this mode the AGW3000C01 automatically selects the highest priority, error-free,
active input at all times. The priority of each input is set with a parameter value
ranging from 0 to 3, where 0 is the highest priority and 3 is the lowest.
An error status is produced when no signal is present at a given input, when the
frame synchronization or megaframe synchronization (megaframe synchronization
only in DVB-T mode) is invalid or when the corresponding GPI for the given input is
connected to ground.
When an error at the input is produced the AGW3000C01 will only switch to a lower
priority input when that input is error-free.
In order to avoid unnecessary switching a recovery time parameter can be set that
forces the AGW3000C01 to wait for a given period of time after an input error is
cleared before switching to that input. The default recovery time is two seconds.
Each time there is a change of the error status of any input or of the input selected at
any output, the STAT. CHG. LED lights up accompanied by a beep. The LED stays lit
until the SELECT/RESET button in the MODE/ALARM box is pressed.
4.3.2. Operation in semi-automatic mode
This operating mode minimizes switching. The AGW3000C01 will only switch if an
error occurs in the selected input and at least one of the other three inputs is
error-free. The error-free input with the highest priority will be selected. Priorities are
set in the same fashion as in automatic mode.
The elements within the MODE/ALARM box on the front panel operate in the same
fashion as in automatic mode.
