MODEL KP-400
An Inter-lock system requires two Keypads. This application example uses two KP-400
with simple cross wire connections to their Output Inhibit & Inter-lock Control Output.
It is necessary to connect the GND, (-), terminals of the two Keypads as a common
ground to achieve the Inter-lock function.
Use the Keypad to open the door from the outside. Use the Egress station to open the
door from the inside. Connect the magnetic door contacts on the door to monitor their
position. When Door 1 is open, then Door 2 remains locked, or vice versa.
WHEN WIRING AN ELECTRIC STRIKE
The 1N4004 diode must be connected to the Electric Door Strike as shown in the dia-
gram above to prevent arcing across the Keypad relay contacts. The diode is not re-
quired when powering the Electric Door Strike on AC current. Use the N/O Output when
operating the Electric Strike in the fail-secure mode. Use the N/C Output when operat-
ing the Electric Strike in the fail-safe mode.
