MAINTENANCE AND CARE
WARNING! Risk of injury.
Inadvertent
switching on of the engine can result in serious
injuries.
■
Before setting, maintenance and repair work,
always switch off the engine and secure
against being switched on again.
■
Pull off the ignition cable, and keep it away
from the spark plug.
■
Disconnect the spark plug connector before
any maintenance and cleaning work.
■
Do not spray the equipment with water! Pen-
etrating water (ignition system, carburettor...)
can lead to malfunctions.
■
Clean the equipment after every use.
■
Observe the maintenance schedule.
■
Observe the hourly or annual maintenance
intervals, whichever occurs first.
■
For use under more demanding conditions,
more frequent maintenance is required.
7.1
Flushing the pump
NOTE
After conveying swimming pool wa-
ter containing chlorine or fluids that leave resi-
dues, the pump must be flushed out with clear
water.
7.2
Setting the carburettor
NOTE
The carburettor must only be adjust-
ed by an authorised service workshop.
7.3
Checking the ignition spark
WARNING! Risk of injury from electric
shock.
Checking the ignition spark with the spark
plug removed may result in serious injury from
electric shock and fire.
■
Never check the ignition spark function with
the spark plug removed. Use an ignition
spark tester instead.
■
Using a suitable spark tester.
7.4
Change the air filter
Clean the air filter regularly. Replace the air filter
if damaged.
1. Remove the air filter cover. For this, loosen
the bolt, and remove the cover.
2. Remove the foam filter, and wash it in warm
soapy water. Re-insert only when dry.
3. Put back the air filter cover.
7.5
Changing the oil (07, 08)
■
Check the oil level regularly.
■
Check the oil level every 8 operating hours or
every day before starting the engine.
WARNING! Danger of explosion and fire.
Escaping fuel creates an explosive petrol/air mix-
ture. Deflagration, explosion and fire can lead to
serious and even fatal injuries if fuel is not han-
dled properly.
■
Empty the fuel tank before draining the oil.
NOTE
■
Drain off the old oil when the engine is warm.
Warm oil runs out quickly and fully.
■
Dispose of used oil in an eco-friendly man-
ner!
1. In order to empty the fuel tank, run the en-
gine until it stops because it has run out of fu-
el.
2. Remove the spark plug connector (01/2,
04/2).
3. Use a suitable container to collect the oil.
4. Unscrew the oil dipstick (07/1).
5. Unscrew the oil drain plug (01/8, 03/8).
6. Drain the oil completely into a container.
7. Screw the oil drain plug (01/8, 03/8) back in,
ensuring that the seal ring is correctly posi-
tioned, and tighten firmly.
8. Fill with fresh oil.
9. Check on the oil dipstick (08/1) that the oil
level reaches the "MAX" mark.
10. Tighten the lid firmly, and remove any possi-
ble traces of spilt oil.
7.6
Maintaining the spark plug
WARNING! Risk of injury from electric
shock.
Checking the ignition spark with the spark
plug removed may result in serious injury from
electric shock and fire.
■
Never check the ignition spark function with
the spark plug removed. Use an ignition
spark tester instead.
