Video Bit Rate
This slider adjusts the desired bit rate of the encoded video recording in Kbps
(kilobits per second) from a minimum of 100 to a maximum of 20,000 (factory
default). The slider control is color coded to indicate optimum settings. Staying
within the green range is optimum. Using video bit rates in the red range is not
recommended, and may cause issues with some players.
Additional Advanced Settings
These settings are intended for advanced users only. Generally they should only
be changed if directed by your CDN or Streaming Service Provider.
Advanced Settings
This parameter shows or hides the additional advanced encoding parameters.
Hide -
Hides the advanced settings parameters (factory default).
Show -
Displays the following advanced settings parameters for adjustment.
I-Frame [GOP] Every
Selects how often I-frames are encoded (the Group Of Pictures size). The factory
default value is two seconds.
NOTE: The GOP size for streaming should be one second or longer.
B-Frames
Defines the B frame cadence. This refers to the cadence of Predictive (P) frames
vs. Bidirectional (B) frames in the group of pictures. The parameter value sets how
many B frames to insert after each P frame.
Select from:
• 0
• 1 frame
• 2 frames (factory default)
Higher values mean more efficient encoding and potentially better video quality,
but will require more compute power to decode.
NOTE: Some decoders may not be able to decode video with any, or too many, B frames.
H.264 Encoding Profile
Selects the encoding profile from the H.264 standard to use for this stream.
Available selections are:
• Constrained
• Baseline
• Main - (factory default)
• High
