Each DVD disc has a variety of audio output options.
Set the digital audio output of the unit, according to
the type of audio system you use.

DOLBY DIGITAL/PCM:
You can select the correct input type when playing
back DVDs recorded with Dolby Digital and using a
Dolby Digital decoder equipped AV receiver.
Select DOLBY DIGITAL/PCM when the unit’s
COAXIAL jack is connected to an AV receiver or
other equipment with a Dolby Digital decoder.
Otherwise, select PCM.
Stream/PCM:
You can select the correct input type when playing
back DVDs recorded with DTS and using a DTS
decoder equipped AV receiver.
Select Stream/PCM when the unit’s COAXIAL jack is
connected to an AV receiver or other equipment with
a DTS decoder. Otherwise, select PCM.
PCM:
Select PCM when the unit’s COAXIAL jack is
connected to an AV receiver or other equipment
without a Dolby Digital, DTS or other special decoder.
DO NOT select DOLBY DIGITAL/PCM or Stream/
PCM for the Digital Audio Output setting in the
setup menu when connecting to an AV receiver
not equipped with a Dolby Digital or DTS decoder
(with a coaxial connecting cord).
Merely attempting to play a disc may cause a
screeching noise that could be harmful to your
ears and damage the speakers. Be sure to select
PCM for the Digital Audio Output setting.

press OK/ENTER, after the audio output option was
fixed by pressing OK/ENTER.
48KHz:
If your receiver or amplifier is NOT capable of
handling 96 kHz signals, select 48KHz. When this
choice is made, this unit will automatically convert
any 96 kHz signals to 48 kHz so your system can
decode them.
96KHz:
If your receiver or amplifier is capable of handling
96 kHz signals, select 96KHz. When this choice is
made, this unit will pass each type of signal through
without any further processing.
