The UFO18 has been type-tested within EN/LFT-C from 60-80kg total-load –

except for the

brake-length all manoeuvres are within EN-A or B

The UFO21 has been type-tested within EN/LFT-B from 75-90kg total-load.

The glider has been tested for

“one- seated”

use only.

Suitability for training

In general the UFO21 and 18 are suitable for training or use in the school environment as
stated by AirDesign as long the glider is flown in the green range according to the table “speed-
chart” at page 32.
The suitability for schooling can be restricted as well by national regulations.

Recommended weight range

The UFO must only be flown within the weight range as stated in the technical data under
section 3. The take-off weight includes pilot plus passenger, clothing, glider, harness,
equipment etc.
The UFO reacts to a variation in loading with a reduction or increase of trim-speed. The
performance remains more or less the same.

UFO has been load tested up to 120 total weights loading. This means the glider can be flown
up to 120kg total weight.
To fly the UFO with 120kg is no problem. But it needs to be considered that speed and agility
are increasing.

5.

Harness

No restriction for harnesses in general.
The UFO21 and 18 is type-tested for use with all modern harnesses.
