2.3 Personnel requirements
WARNING
Insufficient qualification.
Risk of injury.

Only suitably qualified personnel may
work on the appliance.

The staff must read and understand this
manual before starting work.
Operator

The operator must ensure that this manual has
been read and understood by the operating per-
sonnel (training).

The operator is responsible for ensuring that mal-
functions during operation (e.g. alarms, tempera-
ture deviations, etc.) are detected by the operating
personnel and that appropriate action is taken
(see →Malfunctions during operation and What to
do if ...).
Operating personnel

The operator must train the operating personnel
on the contents of this manual (tasks, possible
dangers, ...).

Only trained operating personnel may operate and
clean the unit.
Specialists

Only qualified staff authorised by AHT may carry

out the following work on the unit:

Main cleaning

Maintenance, service, and repairs

Only specialists trained in flammable refrigerants
may work on the refrigerant circuit of R-290 units.

Only qualified electricians may carry out work on
the electrical system.

The main cleaning (
see → chapter 11.1.2)
may
only be performed by AHT-authorized and trained
cleaning companies or specialists.
Persons (including children) with limited physical, sen-
sory, or mental abilities may only operate the appli-
ance under supervision and after training, and may not
carry out any maintenance work. Children must not
play with the unit.
Work under the influence of alcohol and drugs is pro-
hibited.
2.4 Personal protective equipment
Use hand protection

Protection against heavy equipment parts during
transport, unpacking, installation and disposal.

Protection against sharp edges, rotating parts and
hot surfaces during maintenance and repair work.

Protection against contact with liquid/leaking re-
frigerant in case of leakage of the refrigerant cir-
cuit

Protection against low temperature during loading
and cleaning.

For removing glass parts and glass splinters in the
event of glass breakage.

For the removal of parts in the event of material
breakage.
Use eye protection

Protection against contact with liquid/leaking re-
frigerant in case of leakage of the refrigerant cir-
cuit.
2.5
Specific hazards
2.5.1 Electrical voltage
Only qualified staff may carry out work on the electrical
system.
In case of fault messages or damage to the unit, con-
tact maintenance service (
se
e → chapter 11.3
).
WARNING
Contact with live parts may result in
electric shock.
Fire hazard due to sparking or overload.

Do not connect a damaged device or
damaged parts (such as connecting ca-
bles) to the power supply.

Check to ensure safety devices are com-
plete and working.

Do not remove protective devices and
covers attached to the unit.

Before connecting to the power supply,
observe the following:

Applicable local electrical safety regu-
lations.

Applicable standards and safety in-
structions.

Information on the rating plate (se
e →
chapter 3.2.1) .

Mains voltage and mains frequency
must match the information on the rat-
ing plate.

Only previously trained staff may cut
power of the unit.

Observe the following safety rules if the
appliance is damaged during operation
or prior to maintenance:
1. Disconnect the appliance (switch off
all sources of electrical power).
2. Secure the appliance against recon-
nection.

Only qualified staff may replace dam-
aged parts, e. g:

Connecting cables

Lights (see


Do not squeeze or bend the mains
power cable.

Do not use extension cords or multiple
socket strips.
