Checking instrument communication
1
Select the SICL address of the connected instrument to be
addressed. The selected SICL address will be highlighted.
2 Depending on the instrument selected, you can select the
predefined queries button —
Device Clear
,
*IDN?
,
Read STB
,
or SYS:ERR? to communicate with the instrument.
Sending commands or queries
1 You can send instrument- specific commands to applicable
instruments using the
Instrument Command
line.

Send

Receive
, or
Query
as required.
Other functions
1 Select Clear History to clear the responses displayed on the
Find and Control Instruments Connected to your
E5810B page.

You can also set the timeout value (in seconds) by typing
in the desired value in the
Timeout (sec) box.
3 Select Clear ALL Pending Operations to clear all pending
operations on the instruments connected to the E5810B.
