of

calibration

constan

ts

accessed

during

normal

op eration

and

con

tains

the

calibration

information

required

for

optimum

instrumen

t

p erformance.

W

orking

data

is

stored

in

RAM,

and

is

maintained

b

y

a

1

farad

capacitor.

Protected

Data

Protected

data

resides

in

EEPR

OM.

This

calibration

data

is

essen

tially

the

same

as

w

orking

data,

but

is

not

dep enden

t

on

the

capacitor.

If

the

syn

thesizer's

c

hec

ksum

test

fails,

or

if

the

capacitor

b ecomes

disc

harged

and

w

orking

data

is

lost,

the

syn

thesizer

copies

protected

data

v

alues

in

to

w

orking

data

RAM.

Caution

If

the

calibration

constan

ts

are

defaulted,

the

syn

thesizer

will

need

to

completely

adjusted

will

meet

its
