The accuracy of helium level readings is approximately 2mm
(better than 1%). Below the refill level, the display outputs a
negative reading which moves to –100% as the level drops to
the bottom of the helium level probe. If the level falls below
the refill level (0%) then the helium display flashes to
indicate a low level and that a fill is required.

The unit is preprogrammed to read the helium level probes
every eight hours at the internal clock preset times of 01:00,
09:00 and 17:00. As a stand- alone unit, the internal clock is
factory set to GMT timezone. If connected to a console (with
the appropriate software), then the internal clock is changed
to the time registering on the console.

Users of the E5025 have access to a number of set- up items
via the front panel buttons. Two menu levels provide a top
level “user” menu and a secondary level “set- up” menu. Each
menu is traversable in the down direction only.

Note when pressing the buttons on the display:

•

A finger on or off button delay of about 1/3 second is
implemented, therefore do not press buttons too quickly.

•

A flashing display indicates an error or alarm situation.
There is a regular period, every five or so seconds, when
the flashing is held off for a time of 3 seconds. If the
display is in flash mode, use the three- second nonflashing
period to press buttons.

•

Buttons are scanned several times per second. However it
is possible the press can be missed when the instrument
is carrying out internal operations. In this situation,
release the buttons and try again.

•

All commands have an automatic time- out of
approximately 30 seconds, after which the unit returns to
the cryogen display mode. Any value chosen for
adjustment but not “entered” is ignored and the original
value remains. Likewise any action is abandoned.
